Aftercare for Your Tattoo

  • Gently remove bandage in 20 min to an hour and wash with dial gold liquid antibacterial soap. Do not re-bandage.
  • Apply a thin layer of triple antibiotic 3-5 times a day for the next 2 days. After 2 days use Aquaphor Healing Ointment until skin returns to its pre tattooed condition.
  • Keep tattoo out of sunlight and tanning booths until healed. (approximately 14 days)
  • Do not soak in a Tub, Sauna, Jacuzzi, or go swimming while your tattoo is healing. Do not submerge your tattoo.
  • Do not pick or peel your new tattoo. This can cause infection and loss of color.
  • Extreme sun exposure over time can fade a tattoo. This can be minimized by using a strong sunscreen, At least Spf 25.
  • Your tattoo should heal in about 2 weeks.
  • If you have any signs of infection including: severe redness, warmth to the touch, discharge, or a fever please contact the shop at  641-251-4295 for an evaluation and further instructions. In some cases a physician should be seen.
